Simple restaurant on a busy street but well worth a visit. Best to order to share as the portions are quite big. The service was wonderful, always with a smile. We ordered the duck and noodles plus the clay pot and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.
I recently visited Tang Sui Heng Restaurant in Bangkok (Banthat Thong Road) and tried both the duck vermicelli soup and the braised claypot duck with yellow noodles. The duck vermicelli soup was especially comforting-the broth was rich and savoury with a deep, well-rounded flavour. The duck was tender and paired nicely with the silky vermicelli, making it a very satisfying bowl overall. The braised claypot duck with yellow noodles was another highlight. It came with a more intense, slightly thicker sauce that was packed with flavour. The duck was well-braised, soft, and absorbed the seasoning beautifully, and it went really well with rice. The claypot presentation also kept the dish warm throughout the meal, which made it even more enjoyable. Service was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant had a casual, no-fuss atmosphere that made for a relaxed dining experience. Overall, it’s a great spot in Bangkok if you’re craving hearty duck dishes done well. I would definitely return to try more items on their menu.
Another Bangkok Michelin gem quest. Duck noodle specialty. Ordered egg noodle medium, small portion noodle but generous duck slices though. Duck tastes amazing, tender and succulent. Chinese Kale with oyster sauce also fresh and crunchy. Ambience wide and cozy. Good service, good English of owner. Reasonable price. Recommended.
I enjoyed the food here so much that I came back two days in a row! During my visits, I tried two different combinations: the Duck Rice with Broccoli in Oyster Sauce, and the Sliced Duck Rice Noodle Soup with Duck Blood. Both meals were incredibly delicious and hit the spot. The duck was tender, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. Beyond the food, the service was exceptionally warm and welcoming, which made the overall dining experience even better. It’s a great place to enjoy an authentic and satisfying meal. I will definitely be coming back for more during my next trip. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great local flavors!
Just happened to pass by the shop and saw that they sell orh Chen. Somehow they have mastered the art of having it chewy and crispy by cooking the components separately and serving them on a bed to bean sprouts. The chilli sauce is divine too. It has light vinegary taste, enough spiciness to complement the orh Chen. We also got a plate of phad Thai to share. Noodles are the skinnier type and what stands out are the small tofu pieces. Very fresh. Can taste the beans in them.
A long-standing duck noodle shop that has been here since before Banthat Thong Road became famous. The duck noodles are delicious, generously topped, and reasonably priced. The shop isn’t air-conditioned, but there are fans at every table, so it’s still comfortable even during the day. The steamed rice is surprisingly good as well. The only downside is that it closes early-last order is at 7:30 PM. Highly recommended, definitely not to be missed.
came back for a second visit! the claypot duck slices are my favorite and i actually prefer it with rice over noodles though both are great
I tried Tang Sui Heng Restaurant and it’s a solid, no-frills spot for comforting Chinese-style dishes. I ordered two versions of their noodles (soup and dry), duck intestines, and the claypot duck. The standout for me was definitely the dry noodles. The sauce had a nice depth of flavor-savory, slightly sweet, and well-balanced. It coated the noodles well without being too heavy, making it easy to finish the whole bowl. Compared to that, the soup version was decent but not as memorable. The duck intestines were done well-clean taste, no overpowering smell, and cooked to a good texture. Not rubbery, which is important for this dish. The claypot duck is another must-order. It came out hot and fragrant, with tender duck and a rich, slightly herbal gravy that pairs really well with rice. It feels like a proper comfort dish, especially if you’re hungry. The place itself is simple and straightforward-more about the food than the ambience. Service is fast and efficient, typical of a busy local eatery. Overall, I’d highly recommend the dry noodles and the claypot duck. If you’re nearby and want something satisfying and affordable, this is a reliable choice.
